Privacy Policy for PumpLine
PumpLine is developed by Jean-Sebastien Valois. This Privacy Policy applies to the Apple and Android versions of PumpLine.
Summary
PumpLine does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled server. PumpLine does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. The developer does not collect, receive, sell, or use personal information for advertising or marketing.
Pump Setup Data
PumpLine allows users to create and save Pump Setups. This information may include a department name, apparatus and discharge identification, hose and nozzle details, operating values, field-test status, dates, preferences, and related technical information.
Calculations are performed on the device. PumpLine does not automatically transmit Pump Setup data to the developer.
Apple Devices
Pump Setups and related preferences are stored on the device. When iCloud is available, PumpLine may use the user's private iCloud account to synchronize Pump Setups and apparatus ordering between the user's Apple devices.
Apple processes and stores this information according to the user's iCloud settings and Apple's privacy policies. PumpLine does not receive the user's Apple account credentials.
Android Devices
Pump Setups and related preferences are stored locally on the device. Depending on the user's Android device and Google account settings, Android may include locally stored PumpLine data in system backup and restoration services.
Google and the device manufacturer process this backup information according to their respective settings and privacy policies. PumpLine does not receive the user's Google account credentials.
Camera Access
PumpLine requests camera access only when the user chooses to scan a PumpLine Pump Setup QR code.
Camera images are processed on the device for QR-code recognition. PumpLine does not save camera images or video and does not transmit them to the developer.
Users may deny camera access. Other PumpLine features remain available, but QR-code scanning will not function.
User-Initiated Sharing
PumpLine allows users to share Pump Setups through QR codes, Pump Setup files, Setup Images, and the device's system sharing features.
Sharing occurs only after the user chooses a sharing action. Shared content may include the department, apparatus, discharge, configuration, status, and operating information contained in the selected Pump Setup.
The user chooses the recipient or external application used for sharing. After information is shared, its handling is governed by the recipient and the selected application or service. PumpLine does not control copies stored outside the app.
Data Collection and Tracking
PumpLine does not:
- Require user registration or an account
- Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact lists
- Collect location information
- Use advertising or tracking technologies
- Use analytics services
- Sell personal information
- Automatically share Pump Setup information
- Operate a backend service that receives Pump Setup data
Apple, Google, and device manufacturers may independently process installation, purchase, backup, diagnostic, or device information according to the user's platform settings and their own privacy policies.
Data Retention and Deletion
Saved Pump Setups remain on the device until the user deletes them or removes the app.
Users can delete individual Pump Setups from within PumpLine. On Apple devices, deleting a synchronized Pump Setup updates the Pump Setup library stored through iCloud. Platform backup copies may remain for a period determined by Apple, Google, the device manufacturer, or the user's account settings.
Removing PumpLine deletes its locally stored app data according to the operating system's normal application-removal process. Information previously shared with another person or service must be deleted from that destination separately.
Data Security
PumpLine relies on the security protections provided by Apple and Android operating systems for local storage, iCloud synchronization, system backups, camera permissions, and sharing. PumpLine does not operate an external database containing user information.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when PumpLine's functionality or data-handling practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
